What's up friends! I'm Blake, the Owner of The Lincoln Event Space located in Ottawa, KS!
I'll never forget the night a vision and dream was put on my heart to build my first venue in Louisburg, The Haven Event Space. After many years, endless studying, prayers, tears, and straight up figure-it-out mentality, The Haven Event Space became a reality and was quickly an award winning Top Kansas City venue! The immediate success of my first venue made it clear I HAD to open another one! I found the incredible Historic Post Office in Ottawa, and the moment I saw it, I knew... this is it! After a small renovation to freshen up this already amazing space, we rebranded and opened as The Lincoln! The name has significant meaning since my first son is named Lincoln, but fun fact, President Abraham Lincoln's first government job was at a Post Office! It was the PERFECT fit for us!
In my free time, you will find me bartending an event in one of our venues, riding the UTV trails, snuggling my dinosaur sized dogs Phin & Phiona, or probably eating very spicy Thai Food! WE cannot wait to host your dream event, and help every single vision you have come to life.

I've always had a passion for planning events, big or small. And there is nothing more meaningful than the opportunity to be a part of a couple's most memorable day. I attended a wedding at our sister property, The Haven Event Space, and was in awe of every little detail and knew I had to join their amazing team. When I saw there was an opening to manage their new breathtaking venue, I jumped at the opportunity. I am thrilled to be part of this compassionate and creative team. I am even more thrilled to be a part of your journey to say "I do".
I have 4 (2 of each) amazing grown kiddos and I can't wait to be a part of their wedding planning one day. If I'm not at the venue, I'm with my kids watching football (Go Chiefs!) or shopping online on Amazon. I love home design and was thrilled to be a part of the new look here at the Lincoln. You'll love this special spot for your special day. I can't wait to meet you!
ABOUT THE OWNER
The Lincoln is owned by Blake Harris. Blake comes from a successful career in Human Resources for a large Corporate America tech company, but always had the dream of owning a wedding and event venue. In 2019, Blake purchased 40 acres just south of Overland Park, KS and built the award winning venue, The Haven Event Space. In 2023, he decided to expand the brand into the neighboring community of Ottawa, KS to create The Lincoln Event Space! The Lincoln is the second property under The Haven's brand and was named after Blake's son, Lincoln, who was born in 2022.
Blake can frequently be found at both properties helping with tours, setting up for weddings and events, bartending, or sometimes be caught on the dance floor! He prides himself on creating an environment for his guests utilizing technology and personal touches to play on the senses in his spaces. Custom technology, endless amenities, and luxury hotel scent machines are just some of the ways you will feel a connection when you walk into a Haven Property.
Today Blake & his wife Abby live in Paola, KS with their son, Lincoln, and their two Alaskan Malamutes, Phin & Phiona! This is their story, and they cannot wait to help you write yours.
